Blue Ridge Elementary School students named winners of the VFW Patriot’s Pen Essay Writing Contest recently were announced.
Pictured above with VFW member and organizer of this annual contest, Mr. Roy Jones, is first place winner Savanna Wright, second place winner Eli Culler, and third place winner Calvin Lancaster. They won cash awards of $100, $75, and $50, respectively.
The topic of the essay was, “What Patriotism Means to Me.”
