The following cases were adjudicated in Patrick County Circuit Court in November, according to court records.
Nov. 1:
Justin Hatcher, of Stuart, was found guilty of two counts of a probation violation and sentenced on each count to six months in jail and costs. Probation was extended for one year
Alonzo Thomas, of Martinsville, was found guilty of a probation violation. All previously suspended time was revoked and re-suspended except 60 days upon successful completion of a treatment program; ordered to pay costs and probation remains intact.
Randall Blankenship, of Barren Springs, was found guilty of a probation violation. All time previously suspended was revoked and re-suspended upon eight years good behavior; ordered to pay costs.
Joseph Fleenor, of Chatham, was found guilty of two counts sale of Schedule I or II controlled substance and sentenced on each count to 10 years in the penitentiary, all suspended and ordered to pay costs; one count each possess Schedule I or II controlled substance with firearm, sentenced to five years in the penitentiary all suspended, ordered to pay costs; sell firearm to felon, sentenced to five years in the penitentiary, all suspended, ordered to pay costs. Also must make restitution of $1200 and complete five years probation.
Robby Grona, of Stuart, was found guilty of petty larceny second offense, sentenced to 12 months in jail, ordered to pay costs and make restitution of $142.
Nov. 2:
Michael Ray Cline, of Stuart, was found guilty of manufacture methamphetamine and sentenced to five years in the penitentiary, all suspended except six months upon 3 years probation, ordered to pay a fine of $250, complete a treatment program and make restitution of $1,246.
Brandon Ray Taylor, of Stoneville, N.C., was found guilty of four counts of sale of Schedule I or II controlled substance and sentenced on one count to 10 years in the penitentiary, all suspended except four years and nine months, ordered to pay $100 fine and costs, Operators License suspended for six months. Sentenced on each of three counts to 10 years in the penitentiary, all suspended, ordered to pay $100 fine and costs, Operator’s License suspended for six months. Taylor also must complete five years probation and make restitution $645.
Corey Hairston, of Spencer, was found guilty of violating the Habitual Offender Act and sentenced to five years in the penitentiary, all suspended except one year (the mandatory minimum), two years probation and ordered to pay costs.
Christopher Pridemore, of Wytheville, was found guilty of one count each attempt to manufacture methamphetamine, sentenced to five years in the penitentiary, all suspended except 11 months and 29 days and ordered to pay costs; possess precursors/methamphetamine and sentenced to five years in the penitentiary, all suspended, Operator’s License suspended for six months and ordered to pay costs; possess marijuana, ordered to pay $100 fine, Operator’s License suspended for six months, ordered to pay costs. Also must complete five years probation and a treatment program.
Nov. 5:
Stevan Keys, of Bassett, was found guilty of two counts each statutory burglary and sentenced on each count to 10 years in the penitentiary, all suspended, ordered to pay $100 fine and costs; larceny of a firearm and sentenced on one count to 10 years in the penitentiary, all suspended except three years and six months, ordered to pay $100 fine and costs. Sentenced on the second count to 10 years in the penitentiary, all suspended, ordered to pay $100 fine and costs. Also must make restitution of $600 and complete five years probation.
Nov. 8:
Jody Nunn, of Mount Airy, N.C., was found guilty of one count each felon possess gun, sentenced to five years in the penitentiary, all suspended, ordered to pay costs; carry concealed weapon, sentenced to 12 months in jail, all suspended, ordered to pay costs; distribute methamphetamine, sentenced to 20 years in the penitentiary, all suspended except five years (the mandatory minimum), ordered to pay costs, Operator’s License suspended for six months; possess Schedule I or II controlled substance with firearm, sentenced to two years in the penitentiary (the mandatory minimum), ordered to pay costs, complete five years probation and therapeutic program.
Eric Lippin, of Floyd, was found guilty of three counts indecent liberties, sentenced on each count to five years in the penitentiary, all suspended and ordered to pay costs; two counts aggravated sexual battery, sentenced on one count to 10 years in the penitentiary, all suspended except five years and 10 months, ordered to pay costs; sentenced on second count to 10 years in the penitentiary, all suspended and ordered to pay costs. Must complete five years probation, attend Sex Offender Treatment and register as a sex offender.
Nov. 9:
Robert Dennit Sink, of Fieldale, was found guilty of two counts of grand larceny, sentenced on one count to 10 years in the penitentiary, all suspended except three months, ordered to pay costs and sentenced on the second count to 10 years in the penitentiary, all suspended and ordered to pay costs. He also must make restitution of $1,427, five years probation, 20 years good behavior and seek substance abuse treatment.
Jeffrey Martin, of Stuart, was found guilty of distribute controlled substance, second offense, sentenced to 10 years in the penitentiary, all suspended except three years, probation for five years, 20 years good behavior, ordered to pay $1,000 fine and costs, Operator’s License suspended for six months and complete program.
Nov. 14:
Brandi Steele, of Sandy Ridge, N.C., was found guilty of a probation violation. All time previously suspended was revoked and re-suspended except five months, probation for three years, ordered to pay costs, complete substance abuse program.
Nov. 16:
David William Perdue Jr., of Bluefield, was found guilty of speeding 54/55, ordered to pay $54 fine and costs.
Nov. 20:
Isaac Wood, of Stuart, was found guilty of speeding 79/60, ordered to pay $420 fine and costs.
Billy Smith, of Patrick Springs, was found guilty of drive while revoked, withdrew appeal and accepted lower court decision of 12 months in jail, all suspended except 10 days (the mandatory minimum), Operator’s License suspended 30 days, ordered to pay costs, $250 fine, complete one year good behavior.
Nov. 20:
Emory Smith, of Bassett, was found guilty of six counts false application for assistance, sentenced on each count to 12 months in the penitentiary, all suspended, ordered to pay costs; three counts obtain welfare by false statement, sentenced on each count to five years in the penitentiary, all suspended, ordered to pay costs. Also must complete 10 years good behavior.
Nov. 26
Elijah Brown, of Daleville, was found guilty of a probation violation. All time previously suspended was revoked and re-suspended upon successful completion of court-ordered program, ordered to pay costs, complete five years good behavior and 40 hours of community service.
Terrill Moffett, of McDonough, Ga., was found guilty of one count each brandish firearm, sentenced to 12 months in jail, all suspended, ordered to pay $100 fine and costs; firearm by felon, sentenced to five years in the penitentiary, all suspended, ordered to pay $300 fine and costs; contribute to the delinquency of a minor, sentenced to 12 months in jail, all suspended, ordered to pay $100 fine and costs. Also must complete three years good behavior and ordered to pay $325 per month support.
Nov. 29:
Christopher Don Christian, of Critz, was found guilty of possession of Schedule I or II controlled substance; sentenced to five years in the penitentiary, all suspended, five years good behavior, ordered to pay costs.
