The Steeldrivers, a Grammy award- winning progressive bluegrass group, will headline the Chantilly Farm Bluegrass & BBQ Festival, May 26-28.
The festival also will celebrate its seventh year, and expand its musical lineup into a third day. Full days of music are planned for both Friday and Saturday. Sunday will feature an afternoon of bluegrass-gospel music.
The Steeldrivers have an international following, with accomplishments that include being one of the most downloaded bands in the bluegrass genre and playing to sold-out crowds across the country. Former lead-singer, Chris Stapleton, rose to country music super-stardom. The band is slated to close out the Saturday portion of the festival.
The Floyd event serves as the home festival for Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, a widely acclaimed Virginia based bluegrass band. Sisk and his band began a partnership with Chantilly Farm in 2013. Since then, the group has been a frequent festival performer, and is scheduled to perform both Friday and Saturday.
Award-winning bluegrass favorites like Larry Sparks & the Lonesome Ramblers, Band of Ruhks, The Grascals, Lonesome River Band and Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers also will perform. Plenty of jamming opportunities are available for attendees, as well.
The festival includes activities for the whole family: corn-hole tournament, hiking trails, kite flying, children’s activities, arts and crafts vendors and more.
RV and tent camping are available, and numerous food vendors will be on site throughout the weekend.
Advance tickets are available until May 25 from the Chantilly Farm website or by calling 540-808-4984.
Single day tickets will be available at the gate.
