Mr. Chester Lee Prillaman, age 87, of Stuart, Virginia passed away from this earthly life on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at his home. He was born in Patrick County on November 14, 1936, to the late Gold Lewis Prillaman and the late Eva Hylton Prillaman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilfred Prillaman and Dewey Prillaman. Chester was a member of Life Tabernacle Church in Stuart. He was a good man who liked to fish, enjoyed talking about the good ole days, always had a joke to tell with a smile on his face, and never met a stranger. Chester loved his family and loved being Papa to his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his great-great-grandchild. Mr. Prillaman will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish the memories of Mr. Prillaman are his loving wife of 28 years, Charlotte Martin Prillaman of the home; one son, Danny Lee Prillaman of Martinsville, Virginia; one daughter and son-in-law, Darlene Prillaman Shelton (Danny Shelton, Sr.) of Stuart, Virginia; two grandchildren, Stephanie Shelton, Danny Shelton, II; one great-grandchild, Brittany Shelton; one great-great-grandchild, Harper Shelton; two step-children, Rhonda Halsey of Roanoke, Virginia; Ronald Chaney of Woolwine, Virginia; two step-grandchildren, Madison Halsey, Breanna Halsey-Prillaman; one step-great-grandchild, Oakley Perdue; two sisters, Lena Mae Nichols, Fern Wimmer, both of Stuart, Virginia; one sister-in-law, Linda Prillaman of Stuart, several nieces and nephews; three beloved dogs, Coco, Molly, and Max; and many dear friends.
A funeral service for Mr. Prillaman will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Gary Stoots and Pastor Carlton Fitzgerald officiating. The burial will immediately follow the funeral service in the Prillaman Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday afternoon at the funeral home.
