Claude Franklin Bowman, 74, of Patrick Springs, died on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born November 30, 1941, in Henry County, he was a son of the late Addie William Bowman and Sarah Etta Beasley Bowman. He was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Claude Bowman; a brother, Wayne Bowman; and a sister, Pauline Bowman Holt.
He was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church and was employed by the Patrick County Sheriff’s Department holding the rank of major deputy, He also worked for the Stuart Chapel of Norris Funeral Services and Crematory.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years Faye Spence Bowman; one daughter and son-in-law, Tina Bowman Hudson and husband Mike; sisters and brother-in-law, Frances Bowman of Henry and Louise Bowman and husband Ronnie of Stuart; two grandchildren, Michelle Hudson of Patrick Springs and Casey Bowman of Danville; two great-grandchildren, Chloe Bowman and Noah Bowman, both of Danville.
The funeral was held Monday at the Patrick County High School auditorium with Pastor Ed Hartman officiating .Burial was in Patrick Memorial Gardens with honors carried out by the Patrick County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard and Color Guard.
