The Patrick County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office will reopen on Monday, June 29 at 9 a.m. following the positive testing of an employee last week for COVID-19 and the pending results of another symptomatic employee.
The office was closed to the public mid-morning on Wednesday, June 24, immediately upon knowledge of the potential exposure. The office remained closed through the end of the week, pursuant to order of Circuit Court Judge Marcus A. Brinks.
An assessment by the Patrick County Department of Health was conducted, and being deemed a critical governmental function, the office will reopen with adherence to and in compliance with the guidelines and recommendations set forth.
Strict enforcement of the wearing of face coverings, taking of temperatures, social distancing, sanitizing of hands and completion of assessment forms will be observed prior to entry.
No more than five (5) members of the public will be admitted to the office at one time.
Court shall continue to remain in session as scheduled with no admittance permitted beyond court personnel, attorneys, their clients and subpoenaed witnesses subject to the same requirements. Utilization of the drop-off and pick-up boxes located in the security area and correspondence by mail and telephone are highly encouraged at this time.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make diligent and determined efforts to continue to serve you to the best of our ability while being temporarily short-staffed and placing a focused emphasis on both public and employee safety.
Every attempt is being made to reschedule estate and probate matters and we urge you to contact the office if you have a scheduled appointment in the coming two weeks and have not already been contacted.
Your prayers for courage, strength and wisdom as we navigate these previously uncharted territories are much appreciated as well.
