The Ararat Ruritan Club held its Christmas Supper/Meeting on Dec 2, with guests Judy Jackson, Timothy Pruitt, Steve Fariss, Margaret Noonkester.
Following the meal information given about the recent Dan River District Convention.
- Club presented with (5) gold awards for community service projects.
- Merlin Scales voted Zone 1 President of the year.
- Pamela Smith voted Dan River District Ruritan of the year (a first for our club).
- Merlin Scales voted as Zone 1 Gov for the year 2022, replacing Charlie Bowman. Roger Gammons voted Dan River District Gov for 2022, replacing Charlie Bowman.
Our recent Zone 1 Gov Merlin Scales installed President Kathy Loveland, Vice President Mike Noonkester, Secretary Pamela Smith, Treasurer Kevin Smith.
New Board (1yr) Mary Dellenback Hill, (2yr) Bradley Slate, and (3yr) Mary Slate and immediate past President Merlin Scales will serve for 2022.
The newest members are Brad and Katherine Hish.
The newest Ruritan For Life is Mary Dellenback Hill.
A Big Thank You to all the persons, businesses who contributed, helped, attended, donated to The Ararat Ruritan Club, and made it one of our best years.
The next meeting, a covered dish supper, will be at 7 p.m. on the 2nd Thursday, January 13, 2022. After that, meetings will be held on the first Thursday of each month.
