The Ararat Ruritan Club held its regularly scheduled business meeting on Thursday, February 4 and welcomed several guests, all of which were guests of honor.
Profits from 2020 fundraisers were disbursed at the meeting and we were thrilled to get the coverage from “The Enterprise” (see the 02/10/2021 edition).
The Dan River District Governor for Ruritan National, Charlie Bowman, attended our February meeting and delighted us with more ways to grow our membership with more “outside of the box” fundraising ideas.
We held our first ‘virtual’ fundraiser on Friday, February 5. The on-line BINGO event was successful. We have plans for a second one on the First Friday next month, March 5. Pre-order playing cards; a 3-pack is $25. Only 33 packs will be sold.
The weather did not cooperate for the painting class scheduled earlier this month. However, we have another, spring themed canvas painting scheduled for Thursday, March 11 at 7 p.m. Patrick County artist Grace Helms will lead this painting.
We are also holding online monthly raffles for a variety of items.
Be sure to mark these dates down on your calendar:
March 5 at 7 p.m. — virtual BINGO
March 11 at 6 p.m. — Spring-Themed Canvas painting
Preregistration is needed for both events.
Our club meets on the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. You are cordially invited to visit with us and help us help our community meet its needs.
