The Masonic Lodge is selling the best Boston butts on the planet for $35 per whole cooked Boston butt. Orders can be placed by contacting Benny Baliles at 229-6517, Jack Williams at 629-5679, or Jim Litten at 694-2449. The buts can be picked up at Mtn. Home Lodge, 111 Buena Vista Ave, Stuart, VA. Proceeds benefit the group’s Christmas and community projects.

The Woolwine United Methodist Mobile Food Pantry will be at the Woolwine Volunteer Fire Department from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 11
The 19th Annual Ken Adams Memorial Patrick County Toy Run to benefit the Patrick County Christmas Cheer Program will be held at the Fairy Stone Volunteer Fire Department. Registration starts at 11 a.m. and the ride will leave at 1 p.m. Entry fee is $10. A 50/50 drawing will be held; door prizes, and hotdogs available to all riders. The event is open to all types of cars, motorcycles, and trucks.
The Stokes County Arts Council and the Town of Danbury, N.C., will host the 47th annual Stokes Stomp Festival on the Dan along the banks of the Dan River from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event begins with the annual Stokes Stomp Parade through Danbury starting at 10 a.m. Anyone wishing to participate in the parade should call the Town of Danbury at 336-593-2002. Antique and classic cars, parade floats, etc. are welcome. The Stomp will feature heading music form the 208th Army Band and other music will be played at the main stage. Arts and crafts demonstrations will be held throughout Moratock Park.
Sunday, Sept. 12
The 45th Hughes Family Reunion will be held at the Hughes Family Picnic Shelter located on Trot Valley Road. A covered dish lunch will be served at 1 p.m. after a brief business meeting. Drinks and paper products will be provided. Masks are optional. For further information, call 276-692-5507.

P&HCC will hold an Equity vs. Equality discussion as part of its diversity, equity, and inclusion training from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The cost is $99, but those who register by Aug. 21 pay $85.
