Saturday, Sept. 18
The Ararat Ruritan Club will hold a Rook tournament at 6 p.m. the double elimination tournament cost is $20 per team. Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded and concessions will be available.
The Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Country Breakfast from 6:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. Dine-in prices are $8 for an adult plate and $4 for a child plate. All to go plates are $8 each, and orders can be called in by calling 276-930-2113.
Monday, Sept. 20
The Patrick & Henry Community College Board will meet at 12 p.m. at the MET, located at 65 Motorsports Drive in Martinsville. This is an open meeting, but the board will not receive public comment.
Tuesday, Sept. 21
The Dobyns Community Crime Watch meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Dobyns Community Center. Sheriff Dan Smith will be speaking.
The Patrick County Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. in Room 215 of the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Building.
The Patrick County Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) will be held at 4 p.m. in the Patrick County School Board Office in the conference room. The meeting is open to the public. Anyone who wishes to be placed on the agenda should contact Ann Fulcher, director of Special Education and Support Services at 276-694-3163 by 12 p.m. on Sept. 21.

The Woolwine United Methodist Mobile Food Pantry will be at Woolwine DeHart Park from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Ararat Ruritan Club will hold the monthly jackpot bingo. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with concessions (hotdogs, chips, candy, popcorns, soft drinks, and water) ready and games start at 6 p.m. The anticipated jackpot is $800 and grows $100 each month until won. Regular payout is $50 per game and $150 coverall payout. Game sets are sold for $20 each, which includes two door prize tickets. Additional sets and door prize tickets can be purchased. Coverall games are sold for $5 each.
