The Woolwine Mobile Food Pantry will be at the Woolwine Fire Department from 3 to 5 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 9
The Lord’s Acre Committee will hold a Penny Drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rotary Field to raise funds for the Penny House. The event will be a drive thru to donate pennies and other loose change.
A Bingo & Movie Night will be held at Patrick Springs Park. Doors open at 4 p.m. and bingo starts at 5 p.m. A bingo ticket costs $20 and covers 20 games and one coverall card. There are three bingo cards per game. “The Sandlot” will start at 7 p.m. and is $5 per person and free to those three and under. Bring a blank or chairs for sitting on the field to enjoy the movie. Proceeds from the event will go to support a local travel baseball team.

The Willis Gap Community Crime Watch meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Willis Gap Community Center. Guest speaker Sheriff Dan Smith will discuss operations and changes in the past year. For questions, call Deputy Eric Sain or Smith at (276) 694-3161.
Wednesday, Oct. 13
The Patrick County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. in the Patrick County Memorial Building to receive public input regarding goals and objectives of the Comprehensive five-year plan.
The Patrick County Food Bank will hold a distribution from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in Ararat and from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Meadows of Dan.
Friday, Oct. 15
The Woolwine Elementary School will hold a fun-filled night with cash bingo, crafts, vendors, and food. Vendors will be set up around the parking lot from 4 to 6 p.m., and bingo will start at 6 p.m. A chicken sandwich meal of sandwich, chips, and drink will be available for $6. The bingo game package costs $20 for 10 games with 3 bingo cards per game. Craft vendors must make a minimum donation of $15 to receive a set-up of a table and two chairs. To reserve a table or donate a door prize, call the school at (276) 930-2811.
Saturday, Oct. 16
The Ararat Ruritan Club will hold a Jackpot Bingo at 6 p.m. The event costs $20 for 20 games. Each game pays out $50 with coverall payout at $150 if not won in 51 draws. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
The Apple Dumpling Festival 5K will be held at 8 a.m. in Downtown Stuart. The 5k race is run along the Mayo River Rail Trail before the town’s Apple Dumpling Festival. Pre-registered runners receive a guaranteed T-shirt size. All runners will receive a finishing medal, marked course, and a chance for awards. The Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church will fold a Trunk-or-Treat event from 5 to 7 p.m., free, and all kids are welcome.
Wednesday, Nov. 10
The Patrick County Food Bank will hold a distribution from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in Ararat, and from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Meadows of Dan.
The Reynolds Homestead will host its annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair in person from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Community Engagement Center in Critz. Vendors may apply online at https://bit.ly/ReynoldsCraftFair.com. Application forms are also available at the Creative Arts Center (Patrick County Chamber of Commerce) or at the Reynolds Homestead.
