You can also register on-site at the Smith River Church of the Brethren, from 8 to 8:45 a.m. The race will proceed down Virginia 8 towards Jack’s Creek Covered Bridge and finish back at the church.

The Woolwine Mobile Food Pantry will be at the Woolwine Fire Department from 3 to 5 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 6
The Meadows of Dan Women’s Club will hold a Bingo night at the Meadows of Dan Community Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the games start at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be available for sale including hamburgers, hotdogs, and desserts. For more information, call 276-952-2674 or 276-952-6395.
The Veteran’s Day Parade to honor all veterans, past and present, begins at 2 p.m. Line up is at 1 p.m., on Wood Brothers Drive. One lane will be coned off for line up. All groups, veterans, veteran organizations, churches, schools, classic cars or vehicles, fire and rescue units, scout troops, and patriot riders are invited to ride or march with the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard as it honors veterans. High Point Baptist Church will hold an outdoor community meal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with various soups starting to be served around 11:30 a.m. Singing by Emily and Jeff Walker will start at 11 a.m. Games for both children and adults will follow. Bring a chair and dress for the weather. In case of rain the event will be indoors.

The Hardin Moore and Elizabeth Smith Ayers Smith family reunion will be held at the Ararat Ruritan Building starting at 12 p.m. Plates, utensils, and drinks will be provided. The Patrick County Food Bank will hold a distribution from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Stuart and Ararat and from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Stuart and Meadows of Dan.
Friday, Nov. 12
The Spencer-Penn Centre will hold a music night will Snow Creek Ole Tyme Band in the Alumni Hall. The gate opens at 5 p.m. and the band will start at 6:20 p.m. Admission is a $5 donation. Social distancing will be required with masks when that is not possible. Concessions will be sold.
The LifeSpring Center in Stuart will hold a Natural Health Seminar featuring herbalist and lifestyle educator Walt Cross. The seminar, “Herbs & Their Benefits” will start at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 13
The Reynolds Homestead’s annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair – in person from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Community Engagement Center in Critz. Vendors are welcome to apply online at https://bit.ly/ReynoldsCraftFair.com, and physical application forms are also available at the Creative Arts Center (Patrick County Chamber of Commerce) or at the Reynolds Homestead. Booth space is $25 and vendors with handcraft items, original artwork, baked goods, etc. are encouraged to be a part of the festival.
