The Patrick County Food Bank will hold a distribution from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in Stuart and Ararat and from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Stuart and Meadows of Dan.

The Ararat Ruritan Club will host a “Red Truck” canvas painting class at 6 p.m. There are only 16 spots available, and the cost of the class is $20. Pre-registration is required. Email AraratRuritanClub@gmail.com or call (276) 229-6931 to register or for more information.
The Woolwine United Methodist Church mobile pantry will be at the Fairystone Fire Department from 3 to 5 p.m. Ross Harbour United Methodist Church will join with slightly used children’s clothing. There will be free food and free children’s clothing.

The 16th annual Johnny Casa 5 Millner 5K Run-Walk will be held in Rocky Mount with a 9 a.m. start. Funds raised benefit the Southern VA Child Advocacy Center to help provide a comprehensive response to children who are victims of family and community-based violence. Stuart Baptist Church will perform a musical entitled Memories of a Merry Christmas on December 19th at 11 a.m. at the church in Stuart. All are invited.
Tuesday, Dec. 21
The Vesta-Meadows of Dan Alzheimer’s Support Group will hold a luncheon at the Vesta Community Center from noon to 1 p.m. All are welcome to come and find great ideas for dealing with this disease.
Friday, Dec. 24
The Woolwine United Methodist Church will have a Christmas Eve service at 9 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Turkey Shoot sponsored by the Patrick County Patriots on Saturdays in January – Jan. 8, Jan. 15, Jan. 22 and Jan. 29 – at the Smith River Wildlife Club, on Charity Highway in Woolwine. Practice begins at 12:30 p.m., competition starts at 1 p.m. Factory chokes only. No sleeves or re-chokes. Concessions by the Patrick County Patriots available for purchase.
