Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) will hold a Still Life Photography: Flowers course every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Pre-registration is required by calling 276-656-5461, or by going to ph.augusoft.net. The first two classes will take place at the Patrick County site. The last two courses will be held at Walker 135.

Patrick & Henry Community College(P&HCC) will hold a nurse aid training course with lectures on Monday and Wednesday from 12:30-3:30 p.m., labs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m., and clinical hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost of the course in $3,495, but the FastFoward price is $1,165. The Patrick County Community Food Bank will hold a distribution day in the morning Stuart from 8:30-11 a.m. and 5-6:30 p.m., in Ararat from 8:30-11 a.m., and in Meadows of Dan from 5-6:30 p.m.

Thursday, March 17
The Carroll County Genealogy Club will meet at 6 p.m. at the club on Main St. in Hillsville. If Carroll County schools are closed due to inclement weather the meeting will be postponed.
The Dobyns Community Crime Watch meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Dobyns Community Center. Guest speaker will be Deputy Dustin Dillon and his K9 Crash. Dillion will be speaking on K9 operations.
Friday, March 18

The Woolwine Methodist Church Food Pantry and the Ross Harbour United Methodist Church children’s clothing ministry will be at the Fairystone Fire Department from 3-5 p.m.
Saturday, March 19
The Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Country Breakfast from 6:30-10 a.m. Dine in prices are $8 for an adult plate and $4 for a child plate. All take out plates are $8 each. To make a call-in order, call (276) 930-2113.
The Ararat Ruritan Club will host its monthly Jackpot Bingo at 6 p.m. The cost is $20 for 20 games coveralls are $5 each and door prizes and concessions will be available. Each game pays out $50 with the cover-all payout at $150 if not won within 57 draws. Free coveralls will be given to players bringing new/unused items to donate to Redemption House of Surry. Items accepted are basic clothing and general hygiene items for men. Doors open at 5 p.m., with concessions that include hotdogs, nachos, chips, candy, soft drinks and bottled water.

Stuart Baptist Church will hold a free meal and gospel sing featuring the group Four For One from Bassett. The event will start at 5 p.m. and Pastor Thomas Walker and the congregation invites everyone in the community to come fellowship with them.
The Ararat Ruritan Club members will be conducting a roadside cleanup day beginning at 10 a.m. Anyone is invited to come help. At the conclusion of the cleanup, pizza will be served to all volunteers.

Surry Community College is offering a three-month NC Real Estate Provisional Broker Pre-Licensing course that will meet at the Pilot Center in Pilot Mountain. The class will start Monday, Feb. 21 and run through Thursday, May 26 with students meeting each Monday and Thursday from 6-9 p.m. The class will cost $182 for tuition and an additional $50 for the book and printed course materials.
