Vesta Community Quarter Auction at 149 Community Lane in Vesta, to benefit Scot Belcher, who is unable to work due to complications from COVID-19. Doors open at 5 p.m., game starts at 6, $5 includes 2 paddles and one door prize ticket. Concessions will be available.
The Ararat Ruritan Club will host a barn quilt painting class from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. which will be led by Lisa Martin with The Wormy Chestnut. The class is scheduled for Saturday, June 25. Pre-register at lisaorpheus@gmail.com, to ensure your template will be designed and ready for painting. The cost is $30 and includes all supplies needed to complete the barn quilt. The club building is located at 4711 Ararat Highway in Ararat, VA.
A Homeschool curriculum sale sponsored by the Patrick County Home Educators will be held at the Hooker Building at Rotary Field in Stuart from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Anyone who would like to set up a table to sell their curriculum must register to do so by June 18. The cost of a table is $10 and set up will begin at 9 a.m. Seller will supply their own tables and supplies and must clean up their area when done. A Small Business Saturday Cruise-in will be held at Rotary Field from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A cake walk will be $1 and tickets for all you can play are $5.
Patrick County Allstars will hold a Home Run Derby from 6-9 p.m. at the Patrick County High School Softball Field. Participation is $10 for 8 pitches to shoot for the fence and a cash prize. The most home runs out of 8 pitches in the age group wins. All ages are welcome to join. Bats and balls will be provided, but you must bring your own pitcher. You can enter as many times as you want. Concessions will be available and there is a $3 spectator gate fee. All proceeds go to the Patrick County All-Stars Coach Pitching Team.
New Hope Church of the Brethren will hold a movie night starting at 7 p.m. with the movie “I Can Only Imagine.” The “Veggietales” movie will be played for the children in a separate room. Popcorn and water will be provided. All are invited.

The Mtn. View Church of God of Prophecy will hold a Homecoming Celebration beginning at 10:30 a.m. with special guests The Richards, a fulltime ministry in song and evangelism. Lunch will follow.

A Bluegrass and Old Time Music Competition will be held at the Vesta Community Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The competition categories include banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, bands, vocals, and flat footing are include three levels: children, teen, and adult. The Patrick County Parks & Recreation Office is accepting soccer registration for the 2022-2023 school year.
