Saturday, July 2
Resolute Therapy will hold a Bookin’it for Fun Color Run. Registration is $30. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the local “Shop with a Cop” and “Project Life Saver Bands” programs and the Patrick County Public Library. For more information call Resolute Therapy at 276-694-44878.
The Meadows of Dan Women’s Club will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to benefit the Meadows of Dan Community Center. The cost to rent a table is $10, and donated gently used items, no clothes, are allowed. Breakfast and lunch will be available. To rent a table, donate, or volunteer to help, call 828-230-3790.
Fairy Stone State Park will hold a Corn Squeezins’ ‘There Aint Nothing Like A Fambly Business’ event at the Park Amphitheater at 8:30 p.m. The event will teach about moonshine stills, revenuers, raids, and the gold ‘old boys and girls. There will be no parking fees for the event.

A Bluegrass and Old Time Music Competition will be held at the Vesta Community Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The competition categories include banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, bands, vocals, and flat footing are include three levels: children, teen, and adult. Everyone is welcome to compete and must be signed in by 11 a.m.

The Woolwine United Methodist Food Truck will be at the Woolwine Fire Department from 3-5 p.m.
Rise & Shine Youth vendors on site at the Stuart Farmer’s Market with all their great locally made items. Regular vendors with plenty of zucchini, squash, cucumbers, eggs, meats, coffee, baked items and more. Market open 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. We have vendors that do accept the FARM Fresh for Senior vouchers.

Concord United Methodist Church will hold a homemade ice cream supper starting at 5 p.m. Various flavors of ice cream will be served. Baked goods will be sold. Contributions are accepted. Mike Hall will provide music.
Sunday, July 10
The annual JP and Tecoa Williams Family Reunion will be held at the Hughes Picnic Shelter in Trot Valley starting at 12 p.m. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. and everyone is encouraged to bring a covered dish and food, fellowship, and fun at the gathering.

Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) and Verizon will hold a free Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers program to enrich learning through design thinking, 3D printing, augmented reality, social entrepreneurship, and mentoring from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day for rising 6-8th graders. The Patrick County Community Food Bank will hold a food distribution day at the Stuart site from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m. There will be a morning distribution in Ararat from 8:30-11 a.m., and an evening distribution in Meadows of Dan from 5-6:30 p.m.

The Reynolds Homestead will hold an Art Camp from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for children ages 7-12. The cost is $45 and registration is not complete until payment is received. Stuart United Methodist Church will offer The Circle of Hands from 1:30-3:30 p.m. the first and third Sunday of every month. If it is a holiday weekend, the meeting will be cancelled. Men and women are invited to attend the new group, which offers an opportunity to fellowship, and bring a project to work on or lean a new craft.
The Patrick County Parks & Recreation Office is accepting soccer registration for the 2022-2023 school year. Students who are 3-14 years of age (7th grade or under) are eligible to participate in the department’s soccer program. Those interested should call the office at 276-694-3917. The deadline for registration is July 30.
