Volunteers for the Woolwine October Festival are needed at 4 a.m. to start making apple butter, and at 8:30 a.m. for fried apple pie making in the cottage. Lunch will be provided.
Friday, Oct. 7
The Woolwine United Methodist Church food truck will be at the Woolwine Volunteer Fire Department from 3-5 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 8
Patrick County’s 50th annual Lord’s Acre Sale will be held at Rotary Field with doors opening at 7 a.m. Food, baked goods, crafts, and homemade treasures will be available. There will be an auction beginning at 11 a.m. featuring “baskets of goodies” and handmade craft items from each church.
The annual Woolwine October Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Woolwine Volunteer Fire Department grounds. There is free admission. Music will be provided by Friday Night Band, Jordan T Morrison & The Foothill Boys, and Twin Creeks String Band (formerly Dry Hill Draggers). There will be dancing, music, apple butter, crafts, and more. Craft vendors are welcome at no charge, and those interested should call (276) 229-8241 for more information.
The Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) Fab Lab in the Dalton Idea Center will hold a DIY Stickers class from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $15 per person. Pre-registration is required by going to ph.augusoft.net or calling (276) 656-5461.

The Reynolds Homestead will hold a Tea & Tours for prospective volunteers at 2:30 p.m. at the Homestead.
The Thanksgiving service for Lord’s Acre will be held at 7 p.m. at Ross Harbour United Methodist Church. Pennies for the Penny House will be collected at this service.
Sunday, Oct. 9

The Patrick County Community Food Bank will hold a food distribution day at the Stuart site from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m. There will be a morning distribution in Ararat from 8:30-11 a.m., and an evening distribution in Meadows of Dan from 5-6:30 p.m.

The 2nd annual Break Cancer Fundraiser Cruise In for Shavonda Redd Teague will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2 Ball Park Road in Patrick Springs. There will be local vendors, raffle tickets, and more.

A Trunk or Treat Halloween Fundraiser will be held at 264 Woodland Drive in Stuart from 5:30-9:30 p.m. The vendor fee is $20 and the entry fee for cars is $5 and $10 for trucks. Raffle tickets will be available for $1 each or $7 for a book.

Patrick County Pentecostal Holiness Church will hold a Trunk-or-Treat from 5-7 p.m. The event is free and open to the community.
Saturday, Nov. 12
A benefit singing will be held at Sycamore Baptist Church from 6-8 p.m. A love offering will be taken with all proceeds to go help Kentucky flood victims.
