The Woolwine Mobile Food Unit will be at the Woolwine Volunteer Fire Department from 3-5 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 3
Stuart United Methodist Church will hold its annual Christmas Bazar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a large Christmas room, baked goods, homemade soups and chilis, a book room, and handmade crafts. All proceeds go back into the community.
The annual Stuart Farmers’ Market’s Mistletoe Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Stuart.
Bull Mountain Arts will host a Holiday Pop-Up Market in conjunction with the Mistletoe Market from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce office featuring Bull Mountain artists’ creative wares include paintings, jewelry, glass art, and more.

Saturday, Dec. 10
Poetry Reading and Book Signing, 11 a.m. at the Reynolds Homestead. Author Bobby Bailey will celebrate his debut novel “Love and Murder on the Nolichucky.” Bring your book for signing, or pick up a copy at the event. Bailey shares a great deal of experience with his main character in Love and Murder on the Nolichucky.
Stuart United Methodist Church will hold a coffee, conversation, and fellowship with guest speaker Becky Turner giving a presentation on the evolution of Santa Claus.
The Carroll County Genealogy Club will hold its December meeting from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the left side of the Historic Courthouse on Main St. in Hillsville. Open House with refreshments.

DeHart Park will hold its Festival of Lights from 6-8 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and from 6-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights. The cost is $10 per car, and visitors are invited to vote for their favorite display.

Victorian Christmas Open House, 1 to 4 p.m. at the Reynolds Homestead in Critz, with tours of the historic home and Victorian era ornament making and other activities available. This event is free and open to the public.

The Patrick County Community Food Bank will hold a distribution day at the Stuart site from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m. There will be a morning distribution in Ararat from 8:30-11 a.m. and an evening distribution in Meadows of Dan from 5-6:30 p.m.

Peter Holland & Once Upon a Blue Ridge will present A Christmas Carol on at 6 p.m. This family friendly, musical adaptation of the Dickens classic is a 50 minute show. Tickets are $6 adult/$4 children and can be purchased online at www.reynoldshomestead.vt.edu.

The second annual Christmas Spectacular will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 264 Woodland Drive in Stuart. Local vendors will be onsite selling their wares, and Santa Claus will be present from 12-1 p.m.

The Ararat Ruritan Club hosts virtual raffles on its Facebook page on the first of each month. Various items are raffled off at $10 or $20 per limited chance. There are 30-35 chances on each raffle. The Stuart United Methodist Church will offer The Circle of Hands from 1:30-3:30 p.m. the first and third Sunday of every month. If it is a holiday weekend, the meeting will be canceled. Everyone is invited to attend the new group, which offers an opportunity to fellowship, and bring a project to work on or learn a new craft.
The Briarpatch Amateur Radio Club serves amateur radio operators in southwest Virginia and northwest North Carolina. All amateur radio operators and interested public can access the on-air weekly net held each Tuesday night at 8 p.m. with a frequency of 147.090+ and 103.5 tone.
