The Patrick County Board of Supervisors will meet at 6 p.m. in the third-floor court room of the Patrick County Administration Building.

The Patrick County School Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Lower Level of the Patrick County School Board Office, 104 Rucker Street, Stuart.
Local Farm Outreach Meeting led by industry professionals from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Patrick County Community Room at the Stuart Site of Patrick & Henry Community College, 212 Wood Brothers Drive, Stuart, VA 24171. Please RSVP and register by Monday, May 8th at patrickcountyswcd@gmail.com or the District office at (276) 694-2911. Featured agencies include Virginia State University-Small Farm Outreach, Virginia Cooperative Extension, Virginia Department of Forestry, Stuart Field Offices of Farm Service Agency and Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Patrick County Soil and Water Conservation District. These presentations will provide valuable information for your farm as well as forested land as well as funding and free technical assistance.

The National Day of Prayer will be held from 12-12:30 p.m. at the old courthouse in Stuart.
Patrick County Tourism will hold an organizational meeting for the Patrick County VA250 Council at 6 p.m. in the Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) community room.
Friday, May 5
Girl Scout Troop 1302 will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Providence United Methodist Church in Patrick Springs. A bake sale will start at 8 a.m. and lunch including hotdogs, water, chips, and soda will start at 10:30 a.m.
The Stuart Farmers’ Market will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Locally grown items such as cool season crops will be available. Baked items, meats, eggs, coffee and more. Stay up to date with the Stuart Farmers’ Market Facebook page. The Patrick County Master Gardeners will be on site with plants for sale.
The Hardin Reynolds Memorial School (HRMS) PTO will hold a Spring Bingo event at the school starting at 6:30 p.m. Ticket, food sales, and vendor sales will start at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $25 for 20 games and two coveralls. Friday Summer Jam Series will be held at 6 p.m. at the Stuart Farmers’ Market site. The gate fee $5. Music, food truck, beverages and a good time.

The Patrick County Community Food Bank’s food distribution day at the Stuart site from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m. A morning distribution will be held in Ararat, from 8:30-11 a.m.; and an evening distribution in Meadows of Dan, from 5-6:30 p.m.

The Ararat Ruritan Club will hold an Appreciation Day/Cruise-In. A day for the Ararat Community Club to express our thanks to our local first responders (EMS/Fire/Police), veterans, and community members. Hot dogs will be served during the cruise-in from 10am-2pm at the club building, located at 4711 Ararat Highway, Ararat.
The Moorefield Store Community Volunteer Fire Department will hold a black pot chicken dinner from 4-7 p.m.
Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department & Ladies Auxiliary will hold a country breakfast from 6:30-10 a.m. Dine in prices are $10 for an adult plate and $5 for a child plate. All take out plates are $10 each. To call in an order, call (276) 930-2113.

The Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard, American Legion Post 105 and the VFW Posts in Patrick Springs and Meadows of Dan will hold a Memorial Day celebration at the Gazebo in DeHart Park at 3 p.m. All veterans and their families and the general public are invited to attend. People should bring their own chairs.
