Virginia Tech and Reynolds Homestead: will host a virtual youth art camp throughout July. “All about that texture,” July 13-16, for ages 7-12 will explore textures and painting techniques inspired by Picasso. “Steam, taking flight,” July 20-23, 4th to 8th graders. Experiment with projectiles, catapults, aircraft and more. “Girls,” July 27-30, for ages 10-14. Learn how to leverage strengths, empower, raise awareness and drive success. College Board to meet Monday
The Patrick Henry Community College Board will meet via Zoom on Monday, July 20, at 1 p.m.
This is a public meeting, but the board will not receive public comment.

Bible Study for Our Time, 7 to 8 p.m. To help answer some questions about the time in history we are living in and what Jesus is doing today, Thom Morrow will begin a Bible study series entitled “God’s Sanctuaries and the Apocalypse.” The study is free and open to the public. It will be held at the LifeSpring center at 220 Patrick Avenue in Stuart. Participants are encouraged to bring their own Bible and a notebook.
July 11:
Benefit Bike Ride for J.W. Young who suffered a stroke in December. Ride begins and ends at Harvest Worship Center, 21225 Jeb Stuart Highway, Stuart. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Kickstands up at 11 a.m.; suggested donation is $20 single rider/$25 double rider. Proceeds go to Young and his wife. A meal is provided at the end of the event for paid riders. Additional plates are available for $5 each.
