Friday, June 25

Saturday, June 26

Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church will hold a live bluegrass music worship night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free and concessions will be available for purchase. Please bring your own lawn chair.

 

Monday, June 28

The Patrick County Board of Supervisors will meet at 6 p.m. at the Patrick County Administration Building.

Tuesday, June 29

A Patrick County Interest Meeting for minority and women entrepreneurs will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Reynolds Homestead. Registration for the meeting is available at bit.ly/PatrickInterest.

 

Saturday, July 3

The Vesta Community Center will hold a Bluegrass and Old Time Music Competition from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The competition categories are banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, bands, vocals, and flatfooting. There will be three levels of competition- children, teens, and adults. The prize for individual competitions is $15 for 1st place, $10 for 2nd place, and $5 for 3rd place. Bands will win $50 for 1st place, $30 for 2nd place, and $20 for 3rd place. There will be hotdogs, homemade lemonade, soft drinks, and desserts, as well as a Quilt Show by Mountain Top Quilters. Bring your own lawn chair. If it rains, the competition will be held on Monday, July 5.

The Patrick County Board of Supervisors will meet at 6 p.m. at the Patrick County Administration Building.

 

Monday, July 12-Wednesday, July 14

Patrick County High School will hold an Elementary Volleyball Camp from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The cost of the camp is $30. Contact Heidi Moore via email at Heidi.Moore@patrick.k12.va.us or text 276-340-4242 by July 5 with a t-shirt size for your player to receive during this camp.

 

Saturday, July 17

Rock Castle Home will be showing at the Lyric Theater in Blacksburg at 3 p.m. Advance tickets are $15 for general admission.

 

Wednesday, July 21

The Town of Stuart Council will meet at the Town Office at 7 p.m.

 

Patrick County Chamber of Commerce will hold a lunch and learn about Canva, a free graphic design platform, at 12 p.m. The workshop is free, but registration is required. The Patrick County Recreation Department is taking registration for youth soccer through July 30. Only elementary students ages 3-14 are eligible. Call the Recreation Department at 276-694-3917 to sign-up.

 

The Coffee Break Café offers live music every Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. Bring an instrument and join in, or just come and listen.

 

This June, MHC Coalition for Health and Wellness is celebrating Men’s Health Month and reminding men that one step toward good health is regular health exams and routine preventive care. MHCCHW offers “no contact” application assistance for Virginia’s free or low-cost MEDICAID plans for Virginians under 65, who meet income requirements. Questions can be answered and applications completed by phone. Call or text Ann Walker at 276-732-0509 to see if you qualify. Coverage may be available for your entire family.
