Happy birthday, Jesus!
Christmas is about Jesus. He was born in a manger. Mary was His mother. God was His dad. I love Christmas because Jesus was born on that day. Jesus died on the cross to let us go to heaven. I love Jesus, and I love to sing happy birthday to Him.

Letter from Rudolph
Greetings! This is Rudolph. So last year the elves wrote about what we do. So, this year we’re returning the favor by writing about what they do. Exciting right? Let’s get started!!!
Every year on Thanksgiving Santa sends a handful of elves to their temporary homes. No idea what I’m talking about? I’ll explain.
At a very young age, Santa picks a bunch of elves for a special job. They watch over a certain family from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve. Still confused? Ok, go on Google and search “Elf on The Shelf.” Maybe they can explain it better. Anyway, an elf almost always has a candy burger (burger made of candy), candy Coke (Coke made of melted chocolate), and candy cane fries (fries made of candy canes) from their favorite restaurant, Snowey’s. Confused? Ok, simple explanation. That’s the happy meal you get at the North Pole’s version of Wendy’s.
The reason they always get Snowey’s is because when they aren’t making toys and watching over children (which is not that often), they’re working at Snowey’s. Because you get paid 15 candy canes an hour. Which for you might sound foolish and just not worth working for, but here in the North Pole, that’s a bargain!!!
So, Christmas Eve comes along and the elves say their final goodbyes and then, off with Santa they fly!
Once they were flying home in the sleigh and guess what? The elves saved up their candy canes and each elf got a total of 115 candy canes!!! So, they were just munching away and having a good time. Well then, they got super–duper sticky and completely ruined the sleigh!!!
Santa was not very happy, but he knew what to do. He and Tim Allen are best friends, so Santa called him and Tim let him use the real sleigh that was used in all three Santa Clause movies. So, to be honest Tim saved Christmas! That is what elves do.

A Christmas Poem
Christmas is a great day
My family enjoys many things along the way
We decorate cookies so yummy
They fill up our tummy
Next, we like to go and shop
For Target and Walmart are the places we stop
A Christmas parade is super fun
Floats and prizes you get by the ton
Then we
Decorate the tree
Some decorations big and small
It takes time to put on them all
Finally, it’s time to rest
Christmas is the best!
Oh wait, I forgot to say
For Santa’s on his way
But let’s remember
Jesus was also born in December!

An Unforgettable Christmas
One year, during Christmas time, lived a happy family that enjoyed Christmas, Liam just woke up and then he walked downstairs. He glanced at the huge Christmas tree that was surrounded by a huge red circular carpet with white petals on the outer parts of it.
As soon as he was done gazing, he went over to his mom and asked, “What are we gonna have for Christmas breakfast and dinner?”
His mom smiled. “We are having a surprise dinner,” she said. “And for breakfast, we are having pancakes!”
“Yum!” Liam said, thinking of pancakes in his mind. He thought pancakes were the best food in the world. Not too long after, his little sister came running down the stairs in joy. She came running to the kitchen. Oooooo… pancakes!
She said cutely, all she wanted for Christmas was a rainbow dash plushie. She was obsessed with them.
The only thing that Liam wanted was a pit bull. He loved animals and always has. A couple hours later, Liam and his little sister are all warm and ready to go outside! When they got outside, they had a snowball fight. Somehow, his little sister won.
Liam goes on the porch and grabs an icicle. Suddenly, an idea pops in his head. “Sis! Come on!” he shouted, as she ran behind her brother. “Mom!” said Liam. “I have an idea!”
“Ok,” said his mom. “Do what you’re gonna do okay?”
“I’m gonna watch tv. Ok momma?” He dipped the icicle in whipped cream and then put a strawberry on it. Then he showed his mom. “Wow! I will post this online,” says his mom.
A week later, billions of people wanna try the icicle treat for a load of money! They meet at a park and people try them one by one. They all gave great feedback, so Liam and his mom got a lot of money! They decided to give the money to homeless people who don’t have much. It changed their lives! They became famous for the amazing act of kindness, and they became famous and wealthy!

My Snow Story
When it snows the ground sparkles and the trees. At the house, it makes all the kids get excited when the snow starts falling on the ground. It makes the kid’s heart fill up with joy. They can’t wait to get outside to play in the snow. They dream of making a snowman, but they hear their mommy in the background saying you can’t go outside yet. You have to wait for the snow to cover the ground. So, they wait for the ground to be covered with snow. While they are waiting, their mommy tells them to put a movie on to make the time to go by faster. She goes into the kitchen and makes the kids a special surprise. She comes out of the kitchen with hot chocolate with little marshmallows on top in the shape of a snowman. They are so happy. When they finish their hot chocolate, they notice the ground is covered with snow.
Then they hear their mom in the background saying it looks like you can go outside now. The kids jump
up and scream with excitement. They went to their bedroom to find snow clothes.
They could not get their coat and boots on fast enough. They ran out the door and played in the snow and they had a snowball fight and then they made a perfect snowman. Then they made a snow angel. They went to find their sleds in the shed. The kids took them to a big hill and sled down the hill. They had a fun day playing in the snow. Finally, in the distance, they could hear their mom hollering for them to come inside.

My Christmas Traditions
I love when it’s Christmas time! There are a lot of things to do. First, my brothers and I wake up and wait till it’s 7:00 a.m. Then, we scream for mom and dad to wake up! When they’re awake, they come out, and watch us burst out of the wrapping paper that was placed by Santa on the doors to our rooms. One time, Chase took his Nerf gun, and shot Nerf darts through the wrapping paper. Once we are out of our rooms, we go downstairs to have breakfast. I do not eat a lot because I always get a little too excited to start opening presents. After breakfast, we go to the basement, because that’s where we get to open presents. Before opening presents, the kids look for where mom and dad hid the Christmas pickle. Whoever finds the Christmas pickle first, opens the first present. I have never found the pickle but hope to this year. Santa always wraps the gifts before he puts them in the stockings. I’m always thinking about how he wraps the gifts so perfectly. He has to put small gifts in the stockings or else they will not fit. After we are done unwrapping our stocking gifts, I usually go over to where we put the cookies for Santa. Left behind are usually two cookies out of five, and one cookie that has a bite mark in it.
I love when my family members come to visit. It’s nice to see them. They are really nice to me. I also love when it snows. My brothers and I like to go sledding, make snow angels, and start snowball fights. I have a lot of fun with my brothers when they are not annoying me. I love Christmas and snow days. My brothers and I have a lot of fun.

The Reindeer
There once was a reindeer named Moe. He lived in a very dense forest. He was very shy around the other reindeer. One day, he was out for a morning walk when he realized he did not know where he was. Then he saw a small pond. He walked toward the pond, but slipped on a large, flat rock and fell face-first into the pond. He got very wet, but in a few seconds, he was out. He shook himself off, then continued his trudge down through the forest. He continued to walk aimlessly. Then he saw the horse pasture. He knew his herd liked to graze near the horse pasture and he got his bearings. The horses were very friendly and directed him to his home, and soon he was walking back. He learned to always stay close to the herd during the morning walk, and they all lived happily ever after.

The Christmas Miracle
There was a little boy named Sheldon. He was a mischievous 4–years-old and he could never sit still. One night, he went to a Christmas play at church and it was called “Why the Chimes Rang.” It was about miracles. At the end, the regular Christmas story was told. There was a nativity set with angels, shepherds, wise men, Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. Then the preacher asked people in the congregation to bring gifts to the manger. Gifts of canned foods like beans, corn, ham, peanut butter, and money.
And all of the sudden, Sheldon got quiet. Sheldon looked at the manger and stood up in the pew and he saw the light shone down on the baby Jesus. Sheldon turned to his mommy and said in a very quiet voice, “wow, I think I just saw Jesus.” His mom turned to him and said, “I think you maybe just did.” And then the church bells rang.

A Christmas Surprise
One night a little girl woke up. She ran to her mom and dad’s room to wake them up. She said, “I can hear something downstairs.” Her mother said just go on back to bed. “Ok” she replied, but she didn’t. She snuck downstairs and guess who she saw?
She saw Santa! He was jolly, plump, and had a red cherry nose; he also had a sack of presents! She walked up to him and said “excuse me, I”… (she could not even get out another word). Poof…Santa sprinkled sleep dust on her. When she woke up; she was back in her bed. She ran to her mom and dad’s room and yelled, “mom…dad,” but there was no answer. Suddenly a loud “thunk” made them all run downstairs. It was Christmas when she ran to the tree. She exclaimed “look at all these presents. I can just about bury myself in them.” Her mother said, “are there any more for your dad and me.”
Let me look. Nope, all the rest are mine. All of the sudden one of the boxes began to sound like scratching and then whimpering. They had no pets, so Santa had brought her what she had wanted for three years. She ripped open the box. It was a PUPPY. It was the best Christmas ever! I will name her Buttercup and she will be mine forever and always.

Christmas
It is the time of year to be cold
It is now time to dress big and bold.
And I always hear nobody likes this time of year.
When you go outside it’s always snowing.
But at least everything is glowing.
I never like this time of year.
It feels like I got a frost bite on my ear.
The one thing good is all the lights.
But they only come on at night.
But Christmas is coming near.
For Santa and all his reindeer.
It is now too cold to go outside.
So, I’m going to go to my bed and hide.
Santa is coming tonight.
So, sneak down the stairs and see your present in the moonlight.
You will now wake up smelling frosty air.
But at least you don’t have to deal with a bear.
All the time it will be snowing.
You cannot see the grass is growing.
It is now time for Rudolph and all his friends.
But wait no further and it will soon end.

The Secret Santa
It was a week before the Christmas party, and everyone was drawing names for secret Santa. Amy got the hardest person, her boss. Amy had no idea what to get him. She went to call his wife and ask her what to get him, she said he has been wanting a new briefcase.
When Amy got home, she got on her computer and went to Amazon. Amy found a nice briefcase. The next day, Amy called her boss’s wife back and said, “Would you like me to send you a picture of the one I found?” Amy’s boss’s wife said “Yes, he has a lot of briefcases and I want you to be voted best secret Santa,”
So, Amy sent her boss’s wife a picture and sure enough her boss did not have that one. It was perfect! Amy ordered it when she got home. It came in the night before the Christmas party. Amy went to her room and wrapped the briefcase. The next day was the party and Amy was sure her boss would love it. She got ready for the party and then went on her way. When she got to the party, the parking lot was full. There was nowhere Amy could park. Finally, Amy found a place to park.
She got out of her car with the gift and went inside. Everybody from work was there, even her best friends Jessica, Tina, and Rachel. Then, it was time to hand out gifts. When Amy’s boss opened up the gift, his face lit up. He was so happy. After everybody opened their gifts, it was time to tell who got who. After everybody told each other, it was time to vote. Amy had won. Amy had got the best gift. Her boss loved it and asked, “how did you know this is the one I wanted.”
Amy said, “I didn’t know which one you wanted. I asked your wife and she said you had been looking at this one, so I got it. So, do you like it?”
“I love it Amy! Since you won, you got the promotion. Thanks Amy.”
Amy was so excited she had won secret Santa and most of all that she got a promotion.

A Lost Treasure
In the winter, I like to walk into my Grandpa’s Dillon’s old home place. It is so beautiful and quiet. The wind blows through the tree limbs and a little flurry of snow hits me in the face. One time I was there, I looked up at the mountain, and saw a hawk having trouble maneuvering through the trees. I walked halfway up the mountain and looked back to see the old home place. I started walking towards another broken down cabin, when I caught a glimpse of something shiny. I went over and brushed off some snow and leaves. There laid a beautiful silver ornament. Oh! What a beautiful treasure! It was in excellent shape, I wondered how it was in such good condition and how did it get all the way over here next to this stump. I just stood there and imagined the family that used to live in the cabin and how much joy this brought them. I carefully put the silver bell ornament in my pocket and started down the mountain to show my dad what I found. I knew this lost treasure would look good on my Christmas tree for many years to come. Later, when I went to my house to start decorating the Christmas tree, my grandma and grandpa pulled in the driveway. The silver bell laid on the floor and as I was getting ready to put it on the tree, Papa asked to see it closely. Oh my, I think that was my great–great grandma’s silver bell. She put the on the tree at the home place many years ago. It has brought me so much joy! I think it was meant for you to find and it will go on your tree for many years to come.

Christmas Flight
Let me tell you all about last Christmas. We had a beautiful Christmas tree, full of ornaments and beautiful lights. There were so many gifts under the Christmas tree, in pretty wrapping paper. We left some Christmas cookies on the desk beside the Christmas tree for old Saint Nicholas. We put a Christmas card in our stockings.
I have the smallest stocking. My stocking is red with a furry part on the top of the stocking and some pom-poms being held with a red string. Christmas morning my mom came home with snow on her boots and coat. She put her shoes away and hung up her coat on the coat rack. I went to go wake up the rest of my family and I told my brothers, “It is Christmas and mom wants us up.”
My brothers said, “Okay,” like I was interrupting their sleep. They finally came out of their room 30 minutes later. “The pond has turned into ice because of how cold it is outside,” my mom said. “I will go get the pets.”
I grabbed my cat and my dogs and got them to settle down so they could open gifts with us. My cat threw an ornament down from the tree, but it did not break. After we opened presents, my mom heated up some hot chocolate for all of us because it was starting to get a little chilly. I gave my brothers and my mom two candy canes each and they all said, “thank you.” After we gave each other gifts and hugs, we had some dinner. We had perfectly cooked steak with mashed potatoes, green peas, and corn. I had an ice cream sundae filled with chocolate ice cream. “Wow, this was an amazing day! I love you mom.” Mom replied, “I love you too, Susie.”
I grabbed my cat, Uri, and then ran up the stairs so Uri and I could get warm. It was then I saw something I never thought I would see. A big man in red with fuzzy stuff on him eating the cookies we kept by the tree even if it was not Christmas Eve! “What? I thought Santa only came on Christmas Eve, not Christmas Day!” I whispered to myself. Old Saint Nick put a mistletoe right at the middle of the ceiling of the living room.
I walked slowly to get a better look but then I tripped and fell down the stairs, without getting badly injured. I looked over at the time on the oven that was facing the living room and it said it was 2:47 in the morning. I looked back to Santa and said, “Nice joke Nate, I know how much you like pranking me. ¨I am Saint Nicholas. Now tell me, what are you doing up?” he replied. “I came down here to get a little snack and some water. Also, if you’re not Nate, and Santa lives in the North Pole and only comes out on Christmas Eve, then who are you?” I asked.
“Well, the one and only Santa Claus. You are a very special snowflake. You are not like any other reindeer. You are the most different reindeer out of them all, Susie.” Saint Nick said.
“I am special? Not like any other reindeer? I am the most different reindeer? What do you mean sir?” I said, very confused. “Come I can show you what I mean Susie.” He took me onto his sleigh. I was very scared to leave my family. “Sir, will I be able to see my family again, if I go with you,” I asked. “Of course you will, this is a one–time thing only, little reindeer.” he said.
“Why do you keep calling me a reindeer? I am a human, right?”
He just laughed and said, “You can be whatever you want little reindeer. I come out once a year to find the special reindeer and you are one of them. You will see Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and the most important reindeer of all, Rudolph the red nosed reindeer. You can pick one to ride Susie. You will see the elves, and everyone’s wishes that come true. So, are you ready, young one?”
“Yes, I am ready,” I said.
We had a lot of fun, I got to ride each of the nine reindeer, but of course, the ride on Rudolph the red nosed reindeer was my favorite. I saw the elves! It was a great time, eventually I had to go home, but
with a smile on my face.
Santa left me at my front door, and he gave me a present.
“Here you go, Susie. Stay on the good list,” he said. While flying he said one last thing to me. “HO-HO-HO Merry Christmas!”

A Wonderful Time of Year
Christmas is a wonderful time of year.
There is oh so many things to do here.
Like open presents with toys and socks.
Think of loved ones gone up away.
Read books till my falling day.
Sit by the fire and pray away.
For all to believe and stay today.
To decorate the tree and put up the lights.
Oh, so bright the star of the night.
To go to sleep and wait for morning eve.
Oh, Santa will make a big leap.
To give all the toys must take so much time.
We love him for that and will never stop.
Say goodbye to loves ones.
Hug them all day and see you again.
Hope you had a good one from the falling day.
We will miss you very much but will see you next year.
We wish you a good night and a happy new year.
From all of us down here thank you dearly.
To all a good night and a Merry Christmas.

So, in 2016 there was lots and lots of snow at my house. It was over 2-feet-tall. Our power went out and we didn’t have access to lights and power. So, me and my brother played board games and built Lego sets and stuff like that. My dad could not even make it to work. It was actually kind of boring for me and my brother. The power people did not come for another day! We did not have power for a whole day! It really wasn’t fun because we couldn’t do anything. We couldn’t even play outside because the snow was so high. My mom could not make it to work either. My neighbor has a very big tractor and he actually plowed some of the snow away. I thought that was very nice of him. But we still could not go anywhere or do anything. So, we just had to wait it out until everything was back to normal. When the power came back on, we were very happy. We were able to have lights, watch TV and play video games. The day after the power came back on, people came and cleared the roads. But it was a very strange couple of days. But that was my Christmas story.

My Crazy Christmas
One Christmas Eve, late at night I heard rustling in the living room. So, I got out of bed to check and see
what it was. When I looked down the hall, I saw my sister in a red suit wrapping presents and putting them under the tree. She also ate all the cookies and drank all the milk that we had set out a few hours ago for Santa. We had put up decorations the day before and she tore them all down. I asked her what she was doing, and she said she was Santa’s helper and that he would never come back because I saw his helper. I was so upset when she said Santa would never come back. I went and woke up Mom and Dad. When they got to the living room, they yelled at my sister for pretending to be Santa’s helper and saying that Santa would never come back, and they took all her presents.
The next day she was in big trouble. She got grounded, got a spanking, and all her presents disappeared. After that, we took her outside and made her put on a bikini. After she put on the bikini, we made hundreds of thousands of snowballs and threw them at her. Then we made her sit on ice. After that, she was so scared we would make her do something else, she ran away and climbed up a tree that was like five feet tall. Since she ran away, we made her make a snow angel and built a snowman. Even though we were mad at her for pretending to be Santa’s helper, we took her inside and made her hot chocolate. While the hot chocolate was brewing, she ran to her room and put on a long-sleeved shirt, sweat–pants, a coat, and wrapped herself in a blanket. When she drank her hot chocolate, she got so hot she went back outside and sat on the porch for hours. It was nighttime before she got back in.
The next day she wrote a letter to Santa saying she was sorry for pretending to be him. After Mom and Dad read the letter and she apologized, they gave her presents back and we had a happy Christmas. The next day she was so excited because there was no school and she could go to a friend’s house. When she went to a friend’s house, they played and played. They played family, played outside, played doctor, and played vacation. After they finished playing, the house looked like a tornado had come. So, my sister had to come home, and her friend was grounded.
The next day she felt terrible, so we took her to the doctor. Her temperature was low, and she had chills. The doctor said she had gotten too cold and she had to stay warm or she may die. So, we kept the heat all the way up in the house and in just a few minutes she was better. I think she learned her lesson about pretending to be other people.

Christmas Morning
What do you do on Christmas morning? On Christmas morning, I wake up at my house. My family and I open presents. Then we go to my Nannie’s house. Then we get to open even more presents. It is so much fun!
On Christmas morning, my older brother comes running in my room. My brother is screaming, “Get Up!” I wake up and go running into the living room. I saw lots of Christmas presents. I was so excited! My brother and I take turns opening up presents, until we open them all.
Next, we go to Nannie’s house to eat breakfast. She makes lots of tasty things such as bacon, eggs, biscuits, gravy, and pancakes. All of the family comes to eat breakfast at Nannie’s house on Christmas morning. After we eat, we all go to the living room. Then we take turns opening presents from each other.
So, what do I do on Christmas morning? I wake up at my house and open presents. Then I go to my Nannie’s house to eat breakfast and open more presents. Christmas morning is a lot of fun with my family.

The Boy Who Didn’t Believe
Once upon a time, there was a boy who didn’t believe in Christmas. He said that Christmas was just another day. He still wanted to get some toys, but the day of Christmas he got nothing. He asked his mom, “Why don’t I have anything?” His mom replied, “Son, you don’t believe in Christmas.”
