The Patrick County High School Cougar golfers wrapped up regular-season play last week with three matches. This past Monday Patrick County hosted the Piedmont District Golf Tournament at Olde Mill Golf Course.
The Cougars played two matches at Olde Mill Golf Course last week. Monday they hosted Chatham and defeated the Cavaliers 170-194.
Daniel Smith and Evan Hopkins each shot 40. Wesley Diggs and Jarrod Burnette each shot 45.
Thursday afternoon the Cougars hosted Carroll County at Olde Mill and beat the Cavaliers 164-195.
Thatcher Blankenship led the Cougars with a 38. Daniel Smith shot a 41, followed by Jarrod Burnette with a 42. Evan Hopkins carded a 43.
Last Wednesday the Cougars traveled to Franklin County’s match at West Lake Golf Club.
Franklin County won the match with a score of 309. Halifax and Patrick County tied for second with 344. Magna Vista totaled 350 with Tunstall one shot down with 345. Bassett shot a 391 for the round.
Scoring for the Cougars were Jarrod Burnette with an 80. Daniel Smith shot an 87, followed by Nate Scott’s 88. Wesley Diggs carded an 89.
