The Patrick County High School Cougar golf team and the Floyd Buffaloes “traded” home courses last week for two scrimmages. Great Oaks Country Club and Olde Mill Golf Club were the sites of the scrimmages.
According to Coach Philip Steagall, the teams played a different format than what is used in regular match play at Great Oaks, but went back to regular stroke play format at Olde Mill.
“We played well in both scrimmages,” he said.
“The weather has made courses play longer over the last couple of weeks, but we have made good adjustments. We are looking forward to regular season play to start this week,” he said.
The Cougar golfers hosted Abingdon and Chatham at Olde Mill Monday and host Bassett, Franklin Co. and Magna Vista Thursday afternoon.
