The Patrick County High School men’s tennis team hosted Halifax County for the first official match of the season last Thursday. They lost to the Comets 8-1.
“We didn’t play as well as we did in our scrimmage against Franklin County,” said Coach Andrew Terry. “It was tough playing conditions with the low temperature and the wind and not being able to practice this week with weather,” he added. “All of these things played role in our performance,” he said.
“We have some talented players that will get better with more practice time and reps,” he said. “We have a young group and each match and practice will get them more experience, and they will improve as we go throughout the season.”
