The Patrick County High School men’s tennis team split two matches last week. Monday, they traveled to Christiansburg and defeated the Blue Demons 5-4, and on Thursday, they hosted Floyd and lost 6-3.
“We played really well at Christiansburg across the board and could have had a couple more matches swing our way but the guys are definitely playing well and improving,” said Coach Andrew Terry.
“In the Floyd match, we were without our #3 seed Frankie LaComa, who was absent due to family reasons, and that put us in a bind having to forfeit two matches,” he said. “We had to move guys up a seed that they wouldn’t normally play. They played well and we competed in those matches,” he added.
“I was proud of the performance this week, and we are improving each match,” said Terry.
