Bassett defeated Patrick County Tuesday night with a score of 3-11. The Cougars went through three pitchers during the game.
Kase Leftwich pitched to 15 batters, striking out zero, walking two, and allowing four hits. Austin Rorrer pitched two innings, striking out two, walking two, and allowing two hits.
Garrett Leftwich went one inning for the Cougars striking out one, walking four, and allowing one hit. Hunter Strole led the Cougars at the plate with three hits and two RBIs. Gilbert Hubbard added one hit.
The Cougars struggled in the field and at the plate against Bassett. A disappointed Coach Rakes said, “Not a lot to say. We preach throw strikes, field the ball, and you will be in the baseball game. We did not do any of that tonight.” The Cougars’ season record is 2-2.
