The 18th Annual Ken Adams Memorial Toy Run was cancelled this year due to COVID-19 related concerns, but donations are still needed, according to Cathy Adams, organizer of the event that benefits the Christmas Cheer Program.
“We tried very hard to have yard sales through the summer to raise money because we were afraid this would happen. We raised a lot, and we have had generous donations, but we could use more funds so we can shop for more children,” Adams said.
The ride strives to raise enough money to spend $75 on each child, Adams said. Proceeds are used to buy coats, clothing items, shoes (if needed), and toys.
Donations of any amount are appreciated, she said. To help, mail monetary contributions to 35 Goblintown Road, Stuart, Va., 24171.
