Patrick County High School’s Dan River Basin Association (DRBA) Club spent a couple of hours Friday afternoon examining the water and stream bed for a variety of macroinvertebrates to determine the quality of the Mayo River behind the old Wood Brothers Garage; club members discovered the quality of water to be “very good.”
Members of the club hope to continue monitoring the sight on a quarterly basis to verify the stream’s ecological status as well as maintain a set of records for future club members.
