The due date to pay all second half 2020 Real Estate and 2020 Personal Property taxes and Vehicle License fees is Monday, Dec. 7.

If you have not received your statements, contact the Treasurer’s Office immediately.

A 10 percent penalty is added to unpaid taxes beginning Tuesday, Dec. 8.

Additionally, 10 percent per annum interest begins to accrue on the unpaid tax plus penalty 26 days after the due date.

Payments are honored if postmarked by the post office December 7.

To pay in person, visit the Treasurer’s Office, which is located in the Veterans Memorial Building,

Room 221. Office hours:  Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (open through lunch).

A face mask is required to enter the office and visitors must adhere to the 6-feet social distancing recommendation. Due to the size of the office, no more than two people will be admitted at a time.

Payments also may be mailed. Make check or money order payable to Treasurer, Patrick County and mail to Sandra K. Stone, Treasurer, P.O. Box 668 Stuart, VA 24171.

The safest and most convenient way to pay is by phone by calling 1-833-398-6729, or online at  www.OfficialPayments.com (use jurisdiction code 6215)  A nominal fee is charged for either service.

Payments also may be dropped into the drop box, located outside the office door. Payments go directly to the office. Do not put cash in the drop box.

If mailing, using our drop box or coming into the office, bring your tax statements with you.  If you do not bring or include your statements, it will be up to you to make sure that all bills you intended to pay are paid.

The office will be closed for Veteran’s Day on Wednesday, Nov. 11, and for the Thanksgiving holiday, from Wednesday Nov. 25 at noon and through Friday, Nov. 27.

Call (276) 694-7257 if additional information is needed.
