Mrs. Elaine Cozart Corns, age 63, of Critz, Virginia went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Beckley, West Virginia on September 11, 1958, to the late Emil Cozart and Virginia Bailey Cozart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Cozart, Jimmy Cozart; and one sister, Gail Stump. Elaine was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had worked for the United States Postal Service for five years, school secretary at Patrick Springs Primary School for five years, and both Henry and Patrick County Social Services departments. Elaine loved her job as raising her kids best of all. Mrs. Corns will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Corns is survived by her loving and devoted husband, William R. “Billy” Corns of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Sara Corns Dollarhite (Chris) of Patrick Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law, William R. Corns, III (Kathleen) of Richmond; Jonathan Robert Corns (Courtney) of Arizona; five grandchildren, Conor Dollarhite, Ella Dollarhite, Louis Corns, Ginny Corns, Jacob Corns; five sisters, Carol Gane (Michael) of Colorado, Joan Barrow (Wesley) of Martinsville, Donna Harris (Tommy) of Bassett, Patsy Rierson (Jackie) of North Carolina, Norma Bradford (Steve) of Eden; mother-in-law, Mary Corns of Patrick Springs; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
A funeral service for Mrs. Corns was held Sunday, May 1, 2022, at 3:00 P.M. at Mountain View Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Tom Warren and Rev. Bud Sedwick officiating. Burial will follow in the Critz Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church.
