Ernest Herman Seafert, 83, of Bassett, died on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
He was born in Sturgis, Mich., on July 17, 1932, and was a son of the late Joseph Ernest Herman Seafert and the late Matilda Shrader Seafert. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Harvey and Margie Kane.
He was a member at Victory Baptist Church. He worked at Fieldcrest Mills in the bleaching room.
Surviving are his wife, Mary A. Seafert; daughters, Patty Fennley of Indiana, Barbara Barker, Joyce Clumbo of Indiana and Kathy Trine of Michigan; son, Joseph Seafert of Kalamazoo, Mich.; stepdaughter, Tracy Setliff of Woolwine; stepson, Scott Wallace; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one stepgrandson.
