Eulalea Virginia Hylton, age 90, of Critz, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at her home.
She was born on July 20, 1925 in Patrick County and was a daughter of the late Harrison Henry Hylton and Nannie Sue Edwards Hylton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Hylton; two daughters, Joan Tatum and Virginia Penn; two sons, Timothy and Mark Hylton; four sisters, Ida Neal, Eliza Avant, Magdelene Cox and Ella Bell; and seven brothers, Joseph, James, John, King, William, Akers, and Timothy Hylton.
She was a member of Hylton Thessalonia Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Ramona “Sue” Reynolds of Critz, Darlene Linster of Stuart, Daphne Hylton of the home and Michelle Hylton-Ramos of Martinsville; four sons, Douglas Hylton of Patrick Springs, Gregory Hylton of Critz, Stephen Keith Hylton of Spencer and Carlton Hylton of the home; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Jane Hughes of Detroit, MI; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Manuel Jessup officiating. Burial was in the Tatum Macedonia Church cemetery.
A wake was held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
