Make plans now to attend the 6th annual Safety-Fun Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philpott Lake Overlook.
The event is free and will feature public safety officials from Patrick, Henry, Franklin and Bedford counties, according to a release from the corps.
The family friendly event also will include music, food by Friends of the Lake, train rides, a cake walk, photo opportunities with Bobber and Sparky, courtesy boat inspections and child identification programs.
Also during the event, a boat simulator is planned as well as an impaired driving course, life jacket relays, 50/50 raffle and a wellness screening by the Martinsville/henry County Coalition for Health and Wellness.
