The Patrick County Agricultural Fair will celebrate 65 years of family fun when it kicks off Sept. 19, and you’re invited.
The fair runs through Sept. 23 in Stuart at Rotary Field with exhibits housed in buildings.
Gates open nightly at 5:30 p.m., with rides, midway, exhibits, food, games, livestock shows, animal barn, and entertainment.
Rides are open from 6 to 10 p.m., and wristbands are available for unlimited rides.
General admission tickets are $5 for adults 19 and over; $3 for those aged 6 to 18 years; admission for children 5 and under is free; all military members in uniform also are admitted free.
Special event admission in the amphitheater is $10 for adults aged 19 and over; $5 for youngsters 6 to 18; children ages 5 and under are admitted free.
The special event admission does not include general admission entry. It is paid separately.
A new “Young Family Matinee” includes special times and pricing for families with youngsters aged 10 and under. It will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 3 to 6 p.m. Then, young families can enjoy free admission for families from 3 to 5 p.m., and kiddy rides with a special, unlimited wristband price of $15. Only the kiddy rides are available. To stay and ride from 6 to 10 p.m., repurchase tickets and wristbands at regular ride pricing.
In a new event at this year’s fair, Mud Boggin’ will offer locals and those in surrounding counties come try out their mud-slingin’ skills with 4-wheelers on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. at the amphitheater. (This is a special event ticket plus fair entry.)
The Rodeo & Barrel Racing event will be held on Friday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m., with something for the gents and the ladies. Participants will show their skills flying around the barrels at breakneck speeds.

The Demolition Derby will be held on a new night – Saturday, Sept. 23, starting at 7 p.m., with Gentlemen, start your engines, followed by boom, crash, and other excitement. The derby is one of the most popular events at the fair in the amphitheater, and also requires a special event ticket plus fair entry.
