Virginia Cooperative Extension will hold its annual USDA/VSU Small Farm Berry and Vegetable Field Day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 9 at Virginia State University’s Randolph Farm, 4415 River Road near Petersburg.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will focus on proven techniques for maximizing profits on limited acreage. U.S. Department of Agriculture representatives will share information on how government resources can open doors for small-scale farmers.
The field day also will feature farm-related exhibitors, a light breakfast and lunch and mobile dairy milking demonstrations.
