The Patrick County Lady Cougar Softball team took on the Lady Buffaloes of Floyd County.
Abigail Epperson got the start in the circle. She allowed four runs off of five hits with five walks and one strikeout. Katherine Beckett came in to relieve Epperson and allowed five runs off of nine hits with one strikeout. Moorefield, Epperson, and Keith all singled for the Lady Cougars. Keith had an RBI single, Belcher recorded a triple to right field, and Danielle King scored off a fielder’s error from Gracelyn Hubbard. The Cougars lost to Floyd 2-10, putting them at 2-3 so far this season.
“We just couldn’t get things going on offense tonight. We has some mistakes tonight that cost us a couple runs, but we are all still learning and still working. It’s still early in the season and that’s why we like to put good teams like Floyd on our schedule.
We learn from games like this and it will make us better,” said Coach Hall.
