Frances Cock, 90, of Meadows of Dan, VA passed away January 4, 2021. She was the daughter of Elder Sam and Dorothy Terry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Curtis Cock, Jr.; brothers Marvin Terry and sister-in-law Nan, Reuben Terry and sister-in-law Eloise, Wesley Terry and David Terry; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and R.O. Slusher, Jr., brother-in-law Owen Dalton and sister-in-law Vera Terry.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Wanda Cock of Hillsville, daughter and son-in-law Laura Faye and Michael D’Antonio of Salem; grandchildren and spouses: Michelle Cock and Phillip Sirrine of Salem, Steven and Lara D’Antonio of Manakin-Sabot, Sarah and Alexander Gard of Lawrence, KS; great-grandchildren: Cecily Sirrine; William, Kathryn, and Scott D’Antonio; and Theodore Gard. She is also survived by her sister: Lois Dalton; brother and sister-in-law Sam and Julia Terry; brother Hubert Terry; sisters-in-law Odetta Terry and Audrey Terry; plus many cousins, nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends.
She was a graduate of Meadows of Dan High School and attended Radford College. She was retired from Patrick County Schools. As long as she was able, she was active in the community as a member of the Women’s Club and looked forward to serving coffee at Pancake Days each fall. She had a special interest in her family’s history and worked hard to keep up with its generations.
A private, masked and socially-distanced graveside service for the family is planned.
