Fred Dale Gwynn, 79, of Ararat, died Sunday, August 7, 2016, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Patrick County on June 29, 1937 and was a son of the late Ed and Gracie Bateman Gwynn. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Moore Gwynn; a grandson, Nathan Gwynn; sisters, Margie Hall and Shirlene Harold; and brothers, Cable Gwynn, and Lewis Gwynn.
He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by daughters, Terri Lathan, Sandy Meeks, and Natasha Mendoza; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Mabelene Harris and Frances Sumner; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at the Harold family cemetery with the Rev. Butch Holder officiating.
The family will receive friends today from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, N.C.
