The Girls Varsity Basketball Team travelled to Magna Vista to take on GW Danville in the Piedmont District Tournament, on Monday, February 13.
The Patrick County team fought hard but lost 35-43 to the Lady Eagles.
Aniya Penn led the Lady Cougars with 10 points, 17 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Kimora Wimbush had 9 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Allanah Wimbush had 6 points, and 1 rebound. Lauren Fulcher had 5 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 assist.
“It was a good, hard fought basketball game. My kids played hard, we just really struggled shooting the ball tonight. We played pretty good defense, but couldn’t get a shot to fall when we needed it. We had our opportunities; we just couldn’t cash them in,” said Coach Donny Rakes.
