The Cougars hosted the first round of the Region 2C Tournament, on Friday, February 17, getting a 61-43 win over the Lady Wildcats of Dan River.
Missy Hazard had 13 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals in the win. Aniya Penn had 12 points, 9 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. Allanah Mitchell had 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist.
“It was a good win despite one of the greatest individual performances I have ever witnessed personally,” said Coach Donny Rakes. “Le Le Farmer scored 41 out of her teams 43 points. She was simply phenomenal. Regardless of what trick defense we dialed up, she simply beat it. Thank Goodness we were able to slow her down in the 2nd half. My kids played hard, shared the ball, and played solid defense in the second half.”
