The Rev. Burgie L. Penn and the Trinity Choir will lead the Feb. 10 gospel concert during a celebration of Black History Month.
Penn said that her greatest hope was to bring a spiritual uplift to everyone at this event
Regional choirs and singers will join this rousing and inspirational program.
Gospel music will be provided by The Trinity Choir plus various singers and choirs from Patrick and Henry counties and surrounding area. Also among anticipated groups are Christianview Choir, The Gospel Five, The RC Gospel Singers and old-time gospel singer Mark Wright.
Renowned saxophonist DeShawn Carroll, from Orangeburg, S.C., will join the many musicians and singers at the concert.
Admission is free to the concert that begins at 3 p.m. in the Continuing Education Center at the Reynolds Homestead.
The concert to celebrate Black History is a long-running community event in Patrick County, and is a part of the American Music Series at The Reynolds Homestead.
