Virginia’s Agriculture in the Classroom program is offering Garden and Agriculture Experience Grants to teachers looking to incorporate agriculture-related projects into their classroom.
“During the last school year, Agriculture in the Classroom helped 32 schools provide an opportunity for school children of all ages to learn more about agriculture,” said Tammy Maxey, Virginia AITC senior education manager. “We are looking forward to providing even more children with this unique opportunity this year.”
Virginia AITC provides grants to support schools and organizations that strive to help students understand the source of their food and fiber, and to help Virginia’s children gain a greater knowledge and appreciation of agriculture.
Applicants may apply for a garden grant or an agriculture experience grant. Grant applications and information is available at AgInTheClass.org; the deadline to enter is September 26.
