While I was praying about what to write for this article, I found myself being drawn to a particular scripture and the truths found therein. I have benefited greatly from the lessons from this passage and want to share how they can help you through this current hard time.
Psalm 37:23-24 says, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.”
It is the nature of mankind to think that his destiny is in his own hands. He believes that all he needs to do is to carefully plan his life, and it will be full and fruitful. However, after what we have experienced over the last several months, we can clearly see that no matter how much we plan or prepare for the future we cannot know everything that will happen.
Certainly, it is wonderful to have parents who taught us to look ahead and make provisions for our future.
I remember how my parents taught me many life lessons but the greatest lesson they gave me was to follow the Lord. The Bible says in Jeremiah 10:23, “O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. 24 O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.” So, let us let the Lord show us where to step, for he knows best where we need to walk.
We should always seek divine direction in our life, because God is the only one who knows what is going to happen in future. The above Psalm 37 scripture teaches us that when God leads and orders the steps of the follower; that the follower will have joy while on that path.
I have faced many hard times in my life, but I can testify that God leads me through that darkness and holds my hand. He will hold yours too. Call out and ask Him to be in your life right now, and He will draw near to you. God guides the steps of His children who seek His direction.
God is the best one to lead us in life, because He sees all. Our vision is limited. We do not know what may be hiding around the corner. “The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth” 2 Chronicles 16:9.
The Bible also tells us that, “Not even one sparrow falls to the ground that God does not know about” Matthew 10:29. Our God, who sees everything at once, will guide our lives for us, as well.
There will be many things in our life span that we do not understand because our knowledge is limited, but God knows best and has it all under control. When our day comes that we go home to be with Jesus in heaven, we will look back on life. That is when we can see with perfect knowledge and we will thank Him for everything that has happened to us. Until that day, let us run the race that is set before us.
Psalm 37: 23-24 shows us that God has the power to work in your life in a very real way. He can in real time speak into your heart to guide you along life’s way. Listen to Jesus speaking here from John 16:13-14 “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”
Dear readers, please take these words I have written and be encouraged today. Jesus will never leave you or forsake you. Please call out to Jesus and ask Him to be your savior and leader in life.
I want to leave you with one more truth that has helped me get through difficult times. We know that there are powerful forces, both human and demonic, at work against mankind. These evil forces would destroy us if we were without the protecting power of God and His promise that He will never leave us or forsake us. Please let this scripture comfort your hearts.
Hebrews 13:5-6 says, “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” Remember, God orders His children’s steps, and He always provides where He leads.
