Henry Lee Turner, 79, of Bassett, died Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Blue Ridge Nursing Home Therapy Connection.
He was born on February 4, 1937, in Henry County and was a son of the late Eulus G. Turner and the late Myrtle Shelton Turner. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Jean Ann Watson and Louise McAlexander.
He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where he served on the kitchen committee. He was one of Henry County’s finest shoe cobblers.
Surviving are his wife, Bessie D. Turner; one daughter, Brenda Linkous of Christiansburg; one son, Michael Turner of Stuart; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Curtis Turner and Leon Turner, both of Bassett.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Rick Anderson officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Turner Family Cemetery.
