Dinner and A Movie Night is one of the most popular events at the Reynolds Homestead. Held the third Thursday of each month (except June), it features a critically acclaimed movie and a specially paired dinner for added enjoyment.
For March 17, the featured movie is “Saving Mr. Banks” (2013). When Walt Disney’s daughters begged him to make a movie of their favorite book, P.L. Travers’ “Mary Poppins,” he made them a promise—one that he didn’t realize would take 20 years to keep. In his quest to obtain the rights, Disney comes up against a curmudgeonly, uncompromising writer who has absolutely no intention of letting her beloved magical nanny get mauled by the Hollywood machine.
Lisa Martin will prepare a dinner to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with corned beef, cabbage and carrots, potato casserole, and assorted chocolate desserts.
Reservations are required for dinner which is $18 per person and begins at 6 p.m. The movie is free and begins at 7 p.m. Participants do not have to attend dinner to attend the movie.
To make reservations no later than March 15, call the Reynolds Homestead at (276) 694-7181.
