James Cecil Hall, 89, of Stuart, VA died on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. He was born on February 8, 1931 in Patrick County to the late Lettie Sue Hill Hall and Walter Grady Hall. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Willard Hall, one sister, Dorothy Hall Pegram and three brothers, Marshall Hall, Robert Hall and Ray Hall.
He was self-employed and operated a bulldozer for over seventy years, built Dominion Valley Park in 1988, owned and operated it along with his wife for over twenty-five years, played bluegrass and gospel music for many years.
Surviving are two daughters; Janet Hall Rorrer (Mike) of Stuart, VA, Jeanie Hall Clark (Randy) of Stuart, VA, one sister; Mary Ann Hall Harger of Walnut Cove, NC, four grandchildren; Matt Rorrer (Sherry), Ryan Rorrer (Yvonne), Wes Rorrer, Katelynn Clark and several great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Norris Funeral Services in Stuart with Reverend Ricky Rogers and Elder LaRay Smith officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Norris Funeral Services Chapel.
Due to the covid-19 outbreak, all restrictions mandated by the guidelines set forth by the state must be followed.
