The JV Cougar Baseball Team scored a 17-0 win over the Martinsville Bulldogs on April 30. Kase Leftwich got the win on the mound in three innings, striking out five, walking three, and allowing four hits. Nick Tarpley had a huge night at the plate with two home runs, two hits, and five RBIs. Camden Nowlin had three hits and one RBI, Gilbert Hubbard had two hits and three RBIs, Nash Thompson had two hits and one RBI, Kase Leftwich, Carson Merriman, and Hunter Strole both had one hit and one RBI each, and Grayson Howell added a hit and a double for the Cougars. Coach Donny Rakes said, “It was a good win for our group. Everyone contributed. Nick Tarpley had an incredible game with two homeruns and five RBI’s. Kase threw the ball well. Good team effort.”
