The Patrick County High School junior varsity Lady Cougar basketball team won its season-opener 39-13 over Hidden Valley High School of Roanoke.

“The girls worked really hard on man-to-man defense and executed it well for their win over Hidden Valley,” said Coach Ryan Pendleton

Logan McGhee scored 12 points for the Lady Cougar JVs. Abigail Epperson added seven, and Julianna Overby, Emma Jones and Danielle King each added four points.

The Lady Cougar JVs beat North Stokes 30-20 last Friday afternoon.

Danielle King Scored 11, Logan McGhee added 10 and Graclyn Hubbard added four in a hard-fought defensive struggle.

The JV Lady Cougars are now 2-0 for the season. They played Floyd Tuesday and will play North Stokes at home Friday afternoon.
