The Patrick County JV Baseball team got their revenge on Floyd County, taking a 17-10 win over the Buffaloes. Camden Nowlin got the start on the mound for the Cougars pitching four innings, walking three, striking out four, and allowing five hits. Carson Merriman pitched two innings, striking out four, walking one, and allowing one hit. Garrett Leftwich threw one inning striking out three batters, walking one, and allowing two hits.
The Cougars had hot bats as Austin Rorrer led the Cougars at the plate with two triples, five RBIs, and two hits.
Camden Nowlin added a triple, a double, three hits, and two RBIs. Carson Merriman had a double and two hits for five RBIs.
Gilbert Hubbard and Hunter Strole both added a double, two hits, and an RBI. Kase Leftwich had two hits, and Nick Layman added a hit for the Cougars. “This was a really good win for our kids. We lost to this group the first game of the season. We really swung the bat well, 14 hits, 7 extra base hits, and three triples. Good night for our group. Shout-outs to Austin Rorrer with 2 triples and 5 RBI’s , Carson Merriman with 2 hits and 5 RBI’s, Cam Nowlin with 3 hits. It was a good team win,” said Coach Donnie Rakes.
The JV record is now 3-2.
